Welcome to Week Two of varsity track and field!
This is certainly not the week two that we were expecting....but as we told our athletes last week: we are flexible and resilient. Spring weather is never guaranteed, and we've had to figure out alternate workouts or meet schedules in the past. This is more extreme -- but we can and will get through this as a Lansing T&F community. Practices, Meets & Meetings Until further notice, all practices and meets are suspended at least through April 12. The parent meeting scheduled for tomorrow, March 16, is cancelled. Laps Under the Lights The actual event has been cancelled, but we are leaving our online giving link live. We understand that families are having to evaluate their budgets at this moment, and we as a program are doing the same. That being said, our program has grown tremendously over the last five years and we hopefully anticipate that it will continue to be a large program. Any and all gifts are greatly appreciated and will be used to further the development of our athletes and their teams. Training We will continue to send training plans to our athletes (see attached). We cannot mandate that athletes complete these workouts. We are sending them because we believe that a daily routine which includes physical activity is critical to staying well -- always, and especially in this unprecedented and challenging time.
Our webstore is still open through 3/18. Originally, we'd planned to place an additional order for cotton team shirts for all athletes; the cost of this would be covered by the team. That said, I'll be emailing with the team to get their input as to whether they still want to move ahead with a shirt order (knowing that we won't receive it until we return to school). I write this only so you know that we are still deciding on the shirts in case that changes your mind on whether to make a purchase from the store. Website The goal is for our website (lansingxctf.weebly.com) to be updated by tomorrow including posted workouts and notes. Moving forward, I'll try to limit emails and use the website more heavily.
