The Lansing recap:

• Varsity girls were 10th of 19 teams in the Varsity Seeded Girls race.
  
• Varsity boys were 15th of 33 teams in the Varsity Unseeded Boys Race (up from 25th in 2018!)
  
• JV boys were 20th of 27 teams.
  
• Modified girls were 15th of 20 teams.
  
• Modified boys were 16th of 25 teams.

Some of our Lansing individual harriers came home with some swag they earned from their performances!  

• Top 20 in their races: Jack Thomas '20 (16th) and Emmy Jackson '21 (19th)
• Top 50 in their races: Aiden Hathorn '24 (27th), Domenica Reeve '24 (35th), Kinsley Jacobs '23 (49th)
• Top 100 in their races: Teresa Garcia '20 (66th), Sam Bell '22 (74th), Vanessa Bell '24 (81st), Lucius Dann '24 (81st), Abby Brown '24 (84th), Dylan Rooney-Monger '24 (87th), Hana Thibault '21 (92nd), Joshua Tully '21 (95th)

Sunny skies and warm temperatures on a fast and flat course!  Emmy Jackson '21 ran to a second place finish in a field of over 211 runners in the varsity small school girls race, leading her team to a 4th place finish (the fellow IAC team of Trumansburg won the meet).  Jack Thomas '20 took home some prize swag as well with his 20th place finish in the varsity small school boys race, leading his team to an 11th place finish.  JV Boys took 6th place with Thomas Wells '23 leading the Bobcats in that race.  Domenica Reeve '24 and Aiden Hathorn '24 each led their squads in the modified girls and modified boys races, respectively, with 12th place individual finishes. The modified girls of Lansing would finish 10th and the modified boys took 18th. 

Special kudos to the modified teams: every SINGLE one of them that competed ran to a PR (personal record) for 1.5 miles!

The first dual meet of the season is under our belts.  We opened the season at Watkins Glen on a sunny day, taking on a course that was new to everyone in the program.  Both varsity teams came in third overall behind Elmira Notre Dame and Waverly.  The modified teams scrimmaged, getting their first feel for their racing distance.
