Both the boys and girls teams won against Moravia and Groton in our first league meet of the season, scored as a double dual meet (Lansing v. Moravia, Lansing v. Groton, Moravia v. Groton)! Results can be found here or on NY Milesplit.
We started the afternoon with a Senior Night ceremony honoring all TWELVE of our seniors in the program, and we raced the setting sun (and dropping temperatures) from the first starting gun to the last finisher in the 4x400 relay. Tremendous thanks to all of the parents who volunteered to help as well as to our Boosters Club (there was a lot of hot chocolate sold!). A big thank you to the modified team who helped out as well!

This is a recap of the schedule changes planned for this week. Check your email for more details. Stay tuned for any updates:
Our scrimmage against Trumansburg & Dryden scheduled for today (4/4/18) has been POSTPONED. New date is TBA. Practice will be held from 3:30-5:30. Athletes should meet upstairs in the high school.
As noted in previous post, we will NOT be attending the Bob Scarry Blue Devil Relays in Moravia on April 7. Practice for some events may be held on Saturday morning. Athletes will be given more information at practices throughout the week. Important schedule notes first:
Athletes are responsible for keeping track of the events underway and preparing themselves for their individual or relay events in a timely manner. Our captains and veteran athletes have a lot of experience at a wide variety of meets and can help guide their rookie teammates on when it is best to begin warming up. Athletes are also responsible for cooling down and stretching properly after each event; we thank you in advance for helping keep our athletes healthy and injury-free by helping to insist on a proper cooldown and stretch, even if you are signing them out to leave a meet early. And while we understand that everyone is juggling busy and complicated schedules, we encourage you to watch not only your friends or family but also to cheer on the many and varied events taking place on the field and the track. It's pretty incredible to see so many athletes taking on running, jumping, and throwing and to watch those on our team, in our league (IAC), and across the Section (we are Section IV) grow and improve within and across seasons. Some things you do NOT want to forget:
As always, please feel free to be in touch with any questions! Go Bobcats! |
