There were beautiful conditions and fast racing at the Section IV Class C Championships at Chenango Valley State Park.
The Lansing boys placed 3rd in a hotly contested race, led by Trent Thibault '26 who placed 2nd and is an individual state meet qualifier. Aidan Hathorn '24 earned top ten honors with his 9th place finish. Also scoring for the Bobcats were Lucius Dann '24, Tom Stallone '23, and Everett Lynch '26 (15th, 16th, and 17th, respectively) with Thomas Wells '23 and Sebastien Wolf '24 in 27th and 28th place as the sixth and seventh runners for the team. Caden Sitts '24, Parker Vooris '23, and Scott Coonrod '24 also represented LXC as they took on the CVSP course. The Lansing girls placed 4th at these sectional championships, led by Kinsley Jacobs '23 who placed 5th and is an individual state meet qualifier. Kathleen Sullivan '25 earned top ten honors with her 10th place finish. Also scoring for the Bobcats were Kelly Miller '25, Kendyll Hathorn '26, and Loveta Geesey '23 (26th, 36th, and 42nd, respectively). Abigail Brown '24 (44th place), Vanessa Bell '24 (48th place) were the sixth and seventh runners for the team with Abigail Silva '24 representing LXC as its 8th runner in these championships. Lansing boys XC repeated as IAC Champions, outscoring runner-up Spencer-Van Etten by 20 points. First-year Trent Thibault is the 2022 individual IAC champion, winning in a time of 17:49.3 (he now holds both the 5th and 6th best times run by a Lansing harrier on the challenging Marathon course). Close behind him was senior Tom Stallone, finishing in 3rd with a time of 18:06.5 (which is the 10th best time run on this course in program history). Aidan Hathorn, Lucius Dann, and Everett Lynch closed out the top five for the Bobcats with seniors Parker Vooris and Thomas "Weels" Wells running to personal bests as the 6th and 7th runners. Despite sitting out two runners, the Lansing girls are the IAC runners-up, 13 points behind Spencer-Van Etten. Senior Kinsley Jacobs and sophomore Kathleen Sullivan led the Bobcats in 5th and 7th place, respectively. Lansing's Evelyn Jackson '27 won her second consecutive Marathon Invitational small school modified invitational title on a perfect autumn Saturday. She led the modified girls team to a third place team finish with teammate Amelia Lynch '28 also earning top ten honors.
LXC varsity boys ran to a 5th place finish in the seeded race led by Trent Thibault '26 who placed 12th in 17:51.9, the fastest time run by a Lansing freshman on the Marathon course (and the fifth fastest in LXC history). Teammate Tom Stallone '23 also broke into the top twenty with his 18th place in 18:15.8. The Lansing girls finished 8th in the seeded race led by Kinsley Jacobs '23 and Kathleen Sullivan '27 who placed 19th and 21st, respectively. Complete results here. The boys and girls varsity LXC teams repeated as IAC Division II Champions at Stonehedges Golf Course in Groton (2.94 mile course). Full results are available here.
First Team Division II All-Stars:
Evelyn Jackson '27 improved her own record set previously this season, completing the modified 1.5 mile course in 9:52.0 for a new school record and IAC Division II modified runner-up honors. Teammate Amelia Lynch '28 also broke into the top ten while the modified boys were led by Ray Reeve '27 who finished 7th in the mod boys race. |
