Tremendous racing by the Lansing Bobcats at the McDaniel-Baxter Pre-State Invitational! Full results here. Our Lansing modified racers got their first run through the "magical forest" at Trumansburg, and the friendly rivalry between Lansing and Trumansburg continued into the varsity races with Lansing girls crossing the line victorious and Trumansburg boys edging out the Bobcats by just 4 points. Fantastic racing took place all around with Southern Cayuga, Groton, Watkins Glen, and Moravia also racing. Lansing girls moved to a 9-0 dual meet record; Lansing boys left with an 8-1 record. Lansing XC travelled to Watkins Glen for the first meet of the season against Watkins Glen, Waverly, Elmira Notre Dame, and Groton. Modified boys and girls took off first. With no complete teams, it was a great opportunity for our youngest runners to get acclimated to the distance with a flat, fast out and back. Everett was the top finisher for our boys with Evie finishing as first female overall. Varsity girls stepped to the line next, and Lansing had the only complete team. Our nine girls were led by Kinsley who was third overall. The team aimed to run in packs and rose to the occasion, looking strong and determined as they head into our next competition. The varsity boys race saw three complete teams on the line and Lansing was dominant, scoring a perfect 15 points to win against Watkins Glen and winning 20-41 over Waverly. Sam won the race overall by a wide margin with his team working together in packs to overtake their competition. |
